Hey there!

Thanks for stopping by my blog- a place where I share a bit of my photography, a bit of my life, and a lot of me! I am in love with the life that God has provided me. I live with my wonderful husband in central Oklahoma, in the town of Edmond. I am a wife, sister, daughter, and friend. I enjoy my work as a nurse and photographer. I adore sweets, nature, and my pesky (but cute) boxer, Honey. I feel that I am blessed with a passion for photography, and pray that I am able to bless others through it.

Thank you for being here and sharing the experience with me!

thanksgiving

happy belated thanksgiving!
i have sat down several times to make this post, but i have been away from my own computer (and i couldn't figure out the mac..), so now that i'm back on a pc, here we go~
first, i hope that you enjoyed your thanksgiving, and more than turkey or pie, i hope that you were able to enjoy those you were around, and be able to seriously count your blessings. i know that i am blessed in so many ways by the Lord, and thanksgiving reinforces that even more. ray and i traveled up to salina, ks to enjoy thanksgiving with my mom's side of the family. i documented quite a bit of it with pics, so i'll tell you as i go :c)
my day started with a walk on a beautiful kansas morning, with my best four-legged friend

the amazing light beckoned me to get my camera and capture it's beauty, and i gladly obliged

i let the sun show off a little bit

ahh, God's glory..

playin' peek-a-boo with the sun (and a little camera tilt for my friend cheryl :c)

i can't tell you how much i love nature, God is truly an artist

some depth of field for a field (cheesy, i know)

this screams kansas to me

thanks to the shiracks for being such fantastic hosts!

here's how the men spent their time (there's a tv with football playing on the patio)

and here's how the women spent theirs

and here's baby carter, who's not much of a baby anymore!

mmmmm... my favorite rolls, homemade by aunt lisa

our spread, with grandpa at the table ready to eat!

here's the family that i am so thankful for

a beautiful sunset to go with the football game

we spent the night playing a ferocious game of mexican train dominos. here's my grandma.

my aunt lez, who most likely just tried to go out of turn again

my uncle mark, who just won big

me and my mom, just being lovely

my grandpa trying to figure the game out

it was not a quiet game..

my stepdad, finally down to his last tile

and this, my friends, is my last hand. the hand that made me lose. see all those dots, yeah, those aren't good..

the final scores, with mark squeaking by me for the win :c(

i love my family, and have thoroughly enjoyed the time spent with them this weekend. after kansas, we headed down to tulsa to spend time with ray's mom and sister, where we still are now.

this is the best part of the holidays :c)

asher's 9 month

it's been 3 months since you've seen this little man, asher. i met up with justin and jana for asher's 9 month pictures last saturday, and it was a beautiful day in fink park! we had to cancel our session from the week before due to rain, but i was thrilled with the way this session came out. enjoy~

isn't he stunning?

mom knew how to make him laugh..

and finally i got a smile from him!

but it didn't last long

see how stoic he remained while the rest of us cracked up?

but you just gotta love his expressions :c)

our tree farm trip

let me start this post by stating that i am all about celebrating Christmas only after properly observing thanksgiving. with that being said, i have to admit that i have Christmas lights on my house as i type this (4 days before t-giving), but... they are off. and will remain off until we get back in town after thanksgiving weekend. and at that time we will go to pick up our Christmas tree that we picked out today :c) yup, we shopped for trees and put lights up on this beautiful november day. i have to thank my clients from saturday, justin and janna, for mentioning the sorghum mill's tree farm, where you can shop for your Christmas tree as it still grows.. and even chop it down yourself if you want! now, for me to describe today is to describe a little bit of heaven for me.. a beautiful day, in God's glorious nature, surrounded by trees, with the man i love (and my camera in hand ;c). if your used to buying a real Christmas tree, i would highly suggest you check this place out!

a little warning sign

i enjoyed the large, deciduous trees that loomed over the rows of evergreens

a spooky look

my hubby and i :c)

this is a baby of the kind of tree that we loved, but couldn't find at the right height

playing with light

our tree! ray is tagging it so we can come back for it after thanksgiving

back off! this beautiful tree belongs to the ofosu's

i love this man

an update on my life

i'd say it's about time to update you on my life :c)
i've been pretty busy finishing up the portrait season, so that's why you've had so many photo shot posts (which i know you enjoy more..). but now that it's slowing down, you get to here more about me.. yay!
first thing, i am officially done teaching for this year! this was my last week, and although i enjoy the students, i'm always happy to get my wednesday and thursday evenings back. here's my group of students at a baby shower we threw for daveron last week.

here's my first ever diaper cake to make! (sorry it's all blown out, i was in auto mode)

and this, if you can believe it, was the class clown of the group. ohh, the laughs cara gave us!

and here was what ray and i did (if you can believe it) on my first free thrusday night.. attended the osu game! (you'll notice neither of us are in orange, sorry summer!)

now i get to bake for my friends and lifegroup couple, michelle and boz, who are proud new parents as of monday (welcome beckham!), try to decorate for christmas some, and babysit for another lifegroup couple so they can enjoy an evening together.. i'm enjoying this free time!
