Hey there!

Thanks for stopping by my blog- a place where I share a bit of my photography, a bit of my life, and a lot of me! I am in love with the life that God has provided me. I live with my wonderful husband in central Oklahoma, in the town of Edmond. I am a wife, sister, daughter, and friend. I enjoy my work as a nurse and photographer. I adore sweets, nature, and my pesky (but cute) boxer, Honey. I feel that I am blessed with a passion for photography, and pray that I am able to bless others through it.

Thank you for being here and sharing the experience with me!

A horse of a different color

Yesterday, God first gave me a sunrise. I tried to take a pic with my cell phone, but ended up not saving the picture (it's a new camera app I'm not used to). So while I was driving yesterday, God gave me another opportunity to shoot. I drive by this horse farm every day I work and always dream about one day taking pictures of the beautiful horses. Well I was surprised yesterday to see a momma horse and her colt right next to the fence. With a camera in the car and no place to be, I decided to snag a couple shots on my bday :c)

I took the liberty of editing these kind of funky and artsy. enjoy-

26 and counting..

My birthday started with a beautiful gift from God; the most stunning sunrise I've seen this year.. man He's good. Then I got to take pictures, hang with my sister-in-law, receive flowers from the hubby, watch Little Rascals, eat lunch and dinner with Ray, and enjoy some yummy SaraSara Cupcakes! Not a bad way to start 26 :c)

My Home

My home, at this moment, contains:
1 Husband
1 Wife
1 Roommate
1 Friend
1 (dying) Fish
and
3 Dogs

Yep, we've added another dog to the list, although this is not permanent.
My friends are taking a trip to the coast for a family wedding, so instead of suffering with 2 kids and a rambunctious lab on the drive, we took the lab of their hands (their own their own for the kids... :c)

I am proud to introduce, Juno.

Honey couldn't be happier to be dog sitting (she was actually smiling as she went to bed last night)

And Neiko, well, he couldn't be happier than to be under the table.

Tired and happy Honey

Tired and happy Juno

Scared Neiko

Lesson learned from having 2 playful dogs- you need plenty of water

Because this makes you thirsty!

updates

updates:
1. I made it back (and even in 1 piece!) from Angel Fire and had a great time :c)
2. I haven't blogged since Angel Fire because I'm waiting on pics from my friends (since I don't know how to keep charged AA batteries..)
3. I got a new computer screen last night and soon won't be working on a laptop!
4. I also bought off-camera lighting, which will be a new experience for me
5. We had a great photolife meeting with the talented Randy Coleman sharing with us.
6. I gave up reading blogs (I will still be writing as you see) and ice cream for lent.
7. Ray is super, just thought I'd let you know.
8. I'm headed to the dog park on this beautiful day-
And last, I just want to express what a blessing photography is, and express my deepest sorrows for a family that I shot last year. They recently lost their baby girl. The shoot was celebrating 5 generations being together, such a special event. This little girl's funeral is today, and although I can't imagine the pain her parents and family feel, I am happy that we captured this family. Here's a picture that was requested by several coworkers of the family. Please keep them in your prayers.

Mai's 1year!

Welcome to my first 1year shoot!
This was also the quickest turn around time from shoot to CD- yay!
Onto the pics of the beautiful Mai.
I loved her expression here on the first pic of the shoot in downtown OKC

Such a beautiful family

These were done in my make-shift studio (aka Mai's grandma's house) and only shot in available light. Mai's mom was well prepared with props and cute ideas!

Love this :c)

Nothing like some birthday love in February (my favorite month for a bday ;c)

Date night and dying fish

Happy Sunday!
Ray and I went on a date last night. Just thought you might like to know :c)
I would of had more pictures, but I took them all with my new point and shoot camera, and I'm not happy with the points of focus. So instead of seeing our fabulous frozen yogurt, you get us..

In other news, our fish is dying. He's actually been 'dying' since October, so I'm not exactly sure how long this process will take. He is 2 years old this month (he was a v-day gift), so he's actually done better than any of my other bettas. But he fights to swim to the top, lays in the rocks a lot, and occasionally perches himself on one of the branches, kinda like a bird, and kinda weird. Anyways, here's a pic of him digging himself into the rocks (like I said, he's a little weird)

Do they have hospice for fish?

Meet Jantzen

I know I said I wasn't doing it- my husband already reminded me.
But who could say no to this little rock star?
Meet Jantzen

He's got some proud big sisters. (I photographed Joia's newborn session a little over a year ago)

And they make one stellar looking family

Like I said, who could refuse this rock star?

Faces like this always get my husband wondering what' going on in their little heads..

The kiddos

Sibling love is so sweet :c)

"w-w-what's up, homie!"

Father-son

Mother-son

"Hello!"

Maybe I need to learn to swaddle?

To explain the whole rock star bit, Jantzen's parents are both talented singers who work closely with their chruch. I think this picture is very sweet.

Gotta love real moments (shortly after, Joia bonked Jantzen on the head with the mic, we ended the session then and there..)

This is one loved baby boy

Speaking of babies, let me just take a moment to encourage you to reach out to any family with young children that you know. Ray and I just got back from babysitting for our friends, so they could enjoy a dinner where (*gasp) they could finish their sentences! Yes, that's what (I hear) parents look forward to. So show some love, go play with some kids, and let a couple strengthen their marriage. Okay, off my soapbox-

A snow day

Hey there!
As promised, here's some pics from last week. Again, we were hit by another winter storm, but thankfully the ice wasn't as bad as a couple years ago. Ray and I decided to play in the snow by means of photography, and since my hubby's not a big fan of being in front of the camera, I was the lucky subject.
enjoy~
the scene when we arrived at our neighborhood pond

I hope you enjoyed the snow if you had any.

In other news, PhotoLife.tv is back in gear! We are meeting at my house every Tuesday from 7-9. If your a photographer or anyone who enjoys photography, shoot me an email and come join us! Hopefully you'll be seeing more of what we do on here.
