Hey there!

Thanks for stopping by my blog- a place where I share a bit of my photography, a bit of my life, and a lot of me! I am in love with the life that God has provided me. I live with my wonderful husband in central Oklahoma, in the town of Edmond. I am a wife, sister, daughter, and friend. I enjoy my work as a nurse and photographer. I adore sweets, nature, and my pesky (but cute) boxer, Honey. I feel that I am blessed with a passion for photography, and pray that I am able to bless others through it.

Thank you for being here and sharing the experience with me!

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas!
Christmas-2

This sweet little boy makes me realize with a greater understanding just how humbly our Lord entered this world. As we celebrate His birthday today, I pray that you understand how amazing this is and grow to know the Lord more and more. I also hope you are able to enjoy this time, whether you are redoing a bathroom (like my parents), in the hospital recovering from surgery (like my friend Mia), working at a shelter with kids who don't have their family (like my friend Summer), bringing a new baby into the world (like my kind of sister-in-law did early this morning!), or spending time with extended family in snowy Texas (like Ray and I)... we each get to enjoy a HOPE because of Jesus. Merry Christmas!

Mia's Surgery and Sean's PET

Max-39

It's time for some prayers my friends!
Sweet Mia has now completed 5 rounds of chemo and has managed to shrink that nasty tumor by 75%! Today she will undergo surgery to remove the rest of her tumor (pray that they get every last piece!), her left kidney (the tumor is too tangled in it), and possibly her spleen (hopefully not!). Surgery will start around 10 am and last around 5 hours. Please pray for Mia, her body, the doctors and healthcare team, and that ALL of the evil tumor is removed. Pray also for protection over her right kidney, as now it will be the only one to have to deal with the chemo and radiation that comes after surgery. These are big prayers, but the cool thing.. we have a BIG GOD! Thank you all!

Also, Sean is in need of some prayers (cancer is evil!). He successfully made it through his second stem cell transplant in less than a year, which is super exciting! But yesterday he had some concerning lab work, so he's at the hospital to get a pet scan and check on if/where the cancer's at. Please pray for positive results here... he has been through so much and it would be great to have a cancer free body to prove it!

Isaiah' s Tooth and a Man's Bills!

Isaiah has his first tooth! (See right lower gum, above the shiny spot)
FirstTooth-1

"What?!" You say, "He's not even 4 months!"
That's what I said! but apparently, without much warning (no fussiness or chewing on things..he's been drooling pretty good though), Isaiah cut his firs tooth. I've seen other moms get sad when their babies hit certain milestones, but never really understood it. Well now I do. For some reason it shocked me that my son could already have a tooth! But he does, and as long as nursing still goes good (I think this is my biggest fear), I will enjoy his new addition.

In other news, I want to share a story. This happened on Monday, and already it seems to have lost some of the trill, but it was truly an amazing thing for me. It started with a sale going on for camera equipment. I decided to take a look at my funds to see if I could/needed to make any year end purchases. Sure enough, I could. I could even get what I had been really wanting. I discussed with Ray and made plans. Then in church one morning, it hit me that I should give that money away. I did not NEED this new piece of equipment, so God told me to use the money to pay off peoples utility bills. My first thought was going to the City of Edmond, but then I toyed with the idea of ONG, really just procrastinating by trying to decide how to give (when I was already told where and how.. I just had a hard time believing it because it felt like one of my thoughts). So after going to lunch with a friend and running some errands, I decide to just go to the City of Edmond Administration building and ask how to give a donation. While in line, the man in front of me started talking to Isaiah. We chat a little (he was difficult to understand and hard of hearing). He moved to the next teller, then the other one opens up for me. I lean in the glass to ask the lady if it would be possible to pay off the bill for the man next to me (I heard him saying things like, "I know I have until tomorrow at this time" and he had some ones in his hand. The teller took down my info and would pass it on to the people who decide to divvy it out. She was able to get the man's account number and pass it along as well. I believe he is the reason I was told to go there, and I think everything I did that day landed me there at the perfect time. I felt so blessed that God would not only tell me to give, where to give, and how much to give (even though I doubted at some points)... he showed me WHO I would give to. I drove away so excited about what had happened!
God is Good!

p.s. The teller thought this was all pretty neat, and said she'd like to do something like this but didn't have the money. I didn't think of it at the time, but I wish I would have told her that she doesn't have to do this.. I did it because God told me to, so it was simple obedience (it feels so much better than the "delayed obedience= disobedience" that I normally do!)

Christmas Decor 2011

I just wanted to document some of our Christmas decorations from this year. This is all done with my iPhone, since my harddrive is full and I'm waiting for a new one. I'm not sure how to work this blogger app like I want, so below the pics are random.. Enjoy-

Alexander Family Chirstmas Session

Hey all! Sorry for the absence! I've been wanting to post these pics from earlier this month..
This is the Alexander family. It's been 2 years since I've shot them and their family has grown! It was rainy and nasty outside, and since there was no way to reschedule, we headed up to lifechruch to shoot in their beautifully decorated lobby! Enjoy-

Our Family Session

Our first family session! (Sadly for Ray, this will hopefully be our first of many family sessions :c) But this one was extra special because it included my big family as well- my mom, step-dad, sister, and bro-in-law. It has been a few years since we've all had our pic together, actually, this is the last time....

Rolls: Thanksgiving and other..

"Hey Ya'll!" (yes, my child already talks like he's from Texas..)
"Check out what I can do-"
12-1-2
"I throw up my hand.."
12-1-24
"Push back my shoulder and hips.."
12-1-29
"And end up on my back! (where I'd much rather be)"
12-1-48

That's right, Isaiah can roll over now! Here's the video I got of him last Friday-

In other big new.. I cut (or chopped) my hair! (forgive my lack of makeup.. I attempted to put it on that morning, but realize now I might need more than I think, yikes!)

An 11" pony tail will be going to locks of love. I had planned on doing this before we knew about sweet Mia's tumor, but now I have even more of a heart for childhood cancer. This is my second time to give to locks of love, and although I don't love my hair short, I like that it has a purpose.
12-1-14
In other news, Isaiah experienced his first Thanksgiving, and also his first trip to Kansas
Tgiving-17
Grandpa Becker has been waiting not-so-patiently for this little guy :c)

Here's all the Becker's that were together..

And Isaiah also got to meet the Hakes!

Where he was certainly the center of attention (and enjoyed every moment)
Tgiving-18
But all this attention led to him catching his first cold, which he then gave to both Ray and I, which made for a not fun week last week. But for the most part we are all recovering now, which is a great thing.

There's just a bit of a catchup! We will be heading down to Texas for Christmas and looking forward to introducing Isaiah to his Texas family!
