Hey there!

Thanks for stopping by my blog- a place where I share a bit of my photography, a bit of my life, and a lot of me! I am in love with the life that God has provided me. I live with my wonderful husband in central Oklahoma, in the town of Edmond. I am a wife, sister, daughter, and friend. I enjoy my work as a nurse and photographer. I adore sweets, nature, and my pesky (but cute) boxer, Honey. I feel that I am blessed with a passion for photography, and pray that I am able to bless others through it.

Thank you for being here and sharing the experience with me!

Matt and Kacey are adopting!

I'm so excited for my sister and brother-in-law who are going to be adopting! I designed this announcement for them to be able to share.
People make this whole aunt thing look pretty fun (I feel like it's the awesomeness of grandparenthood, without my children being grown). And I so enjoyed having cousins close to me, I'm excited for my boys to enjoy the same. My sister Kacey and her husband Matt are now officially a waiting family with Deaconess Adoption agency, so we pray a new baby will be in the family soon! For those who don't know, it's a domestic adoption agency, where the birth family chooses who they want to be the parents. Matt and Kacey have done all the paperwork, home studies, and interviews, so now they wait until they get chosen. The birth mom could be in her second trimester of pregnancy when she picks them, or they possibly could get a call from the hospital from a family who makes the decision after birth, talk about a life changing phone call! So they are in a time of being as prepared as they can be, while they wait for who knows how long. They have already paid some of the fees, and will pay another bulk when they are chosen, and the rest after the baby is born. I wanted to help with some of this cost, so I decided to do a t-shirt fundraiser. It may be selfish, because I don't feel like I have enough Thunder wear, but I thought it would be awesome to do a shirt to cheer on our town's team, and also raise money for Matt and Kacey. Big thanks to my aunts for working on the design with me! I should have posted this sooner, but if you want to help support, below is the flyer with the info. You can go to www.booster.com/thunder to order a shirt (or two ;c) The campaign ends this Wednesday (May 13), so don't do what I do and wait too long! Thanks so much!

Hello April update

Hello all! I know, I know, I'm a bit like a stranger now. I do feel really bad for never giving an official farewell, but I was pretty sure you all figured what had happened. I just really started to prefer life (or more accuratley, sleep) to keeping this blog updated. Back in the days when I read blogs, it always annoyed me when people posted so infrequently that I'd always go visit the same blog page. Well, I guess this is another area of life where I shouldn't say too much before I'm in that situation! At least the same blog page has been a cute picture of an adorable boy! But anyways, a couple people have mentioned stopping by here (and it not being updated), I had intended on shutting it down since I didn't want to be one of "those" bloggers, but I went to bed early last night and was already at my computer, and I have some adorable pics to share with you. So in no particular order, here's our April.

Eli 'diggin' the toys at an egghunt.
Eli didn't realize you're supposed to eat what's inside
 Lovin' on grandma
 :c)
Isaiah got his Van Gogh on at Mia's bday party.
and even taught Eli a thing or two
Love this updated shot of some old college friends!
We traveled south for Alec's wedding (my boys take after their dad and I don't think will ever smile for a picture together...)
A ride on a train through the mall sure brings a smile on this guys face though!
 Happy traveler
 2 cool dude
The Hake women all gathered together last weekend to run the OKC Memorial Half Marathon!
Here we are in our "corral" after a 2 hour weather delay
It's such an awesome thing to run with this many people. This was my second half to complete!
We all finished! (and I learned how much more enjoyable a race is when you train properly... I learned the hard way..)
An Easter egg hunt with some crazy kids :c)

26 Weeks

I know, it's been a month, don't hate.
I might be ending this little blog, but that's another post.
Right now, I just uploaded Eli's weekly picture that I took today, and it makes me happier than anything, so I had to share! I can't believe we are halfway through our project.. just look at how adorable he is!
I just love this guy. He's sitting well, really interested in food, and still refuses a bottle. He loves watching his older brother, and the trains he's always playing with. Eli's a hefty 20 pounds and so perfect to cuddle with. He's starting to give some kisses, and enjoys a good tickle! He's got 2 teeth that he no longer hides :c)

For comparison.. here's week 1

6 months of lovin' this little man

A Day in the Life: 2014

Last year on January 1st, I documented Isaiah in the first "A Day in the Life" series. A week ago, I captured both Isaiah and Eli for the second part! This wasn't necessarily a typical day, but it's fairly typical to have an atypical day, so I went with it. My mom, step-dad, and aunt were in town for New Years, we enjoyed having them over at our house for the day. Enjoy & Happy New Year!

I forgot to pull out my camera for Eli's early morning awake time and bath, so we start with play time with dad

Isaiah wakes up for the last time in his crib (we converted it to a toddler bed later in the day)
Family play time in mom and dad's bed
Which of course Honey thinks she's a part of
 Love this brotherly love
 And their copy cat faces!
 Isaiah independently brushes his teeth.
Eli talks it up during brunch
And of course has some drooling going on
Isaiah sneaks into Aunt Judy's room for more play time
Both boys help me make soup for lunch.

The rest of the family arrives to help put together the trampoline they got us for Christmas (so grateful for their help!). Isaiah and Aunt Kacey make a car out of the box.
While Great-Aunt Lisa keeps Eli warm and entertained inside the house.
I recently discovered how fat the lower part of Eli's finger is, but couldn't get a picture of his finger straight! Love this little hand anyways
Progress is being made by the workers...while the toddler finds a way to play!
But he's seriously involved in this conversation.
 Mission Trampoline: complete. Commence play
Eli eagerly awaits his food (we just recently started solids due to his demand for them!)
 Kacey is happy to oblige
 Isaiah enjoys his own grub.
And the night ends with a family game of cards around the table, Isaiah participates by coloring with us.
I was too busy playing to get any sleeping pictures of them, but wish I would have completed this out better. Well, there's always next year! Here's to 2014
