Hey there!

Thanks for stopping by my blog- a place where I share a bit of my photography, a bit of my life, and a lot of me! I am in love with the life that God has provided me. I live with my wonderful husband in central Oklahoma, in the town of Edmond. I am a wife, sister, daughter, and friend. I enjoy my work as a nurse and photographer. I adore sweets, nature, and my pesky (but cute) boxer, Honey. I feel that I am blessed with a passion for photography, and pray that I am able to bless others through it.

Thank you for being here and sharing the experience with me!

prayer request

i have a prayer request for you all today. i would like you to stop and say a prayer for Zachary, the 16 year old son of a friend from my photo life group. He has cerebral palsy and had to undergo a dangerous operation on his back today. he is now safe in recovery, but will have to remain in the hospital for about 10 more days. please pray for zach and his family during his hospitalization and for everyone to be able to adjust to a new way of life when the get to take him home.

i also have a praise to report with this same story! besides having to worry about zach making it through surgery (he has a bad reaction to anesthesia, but he tolerated it well this time, praise God), my friend was informed that they would have to totally redo their home bathroom to be able to care for zach when he gets home. they priced the renovations at around $9,000, but thanks to all the wonderful people at lifechurch.tv, this price will be reduced drastically due the the help of volunteers! how wonderful! so please also include these people in your prayers, that they may be blessed for their generosity!

teacher ashley

it's been almost a week since i last blogged! so sorry!
right now i'm having to concentrate a lot of my time and effort into nursing, and less into photos. for example, today is my first day as a clinical adjunct teacher with rose state college. i don't know why, but this last week i have been completely freaked out about this job. besides the fact that they keep changing my clinical groups (i found out the final one last night, hopefully...) i'm nervous about doing all the 'teachery' things, grading papers, disciplining, and all that. i know i love to teach hands on nursing, so i'm just praying that this truly is the direction God wants me to go, and that i can make a difference in His name.

lovin' life together

i know, i know.. your tired of news. but too bad, cause that's what i got (and i just feel so compelled to share!)

the inspector spent all morning at our (hopefully) future home today, and it passed with flying colors! so as long as termites haven't taken residence in this beautiful house, we should be closing on the 28th of next month. its going to be a difficult wait (we are just soo excited!) but God is making sure that he doesn't overload us right now (which i would do if it weren't for his road blocks). a little bonus to the whole deal, our first year anniversary, sept. 29, will be our first full day to own our home (if things go as planned). what a great present!

ray is still enjoying his job so far, and will hopefully become very buff very soon, now that he's signed up at the chesapeake gym! (as if he's not already ;c)

i will be starting my first day as a clinical adjunct teacher for rose state in exactly a week.. this means i will be teaching 4th semester students in the hospital for their last clinical during school. i will be doing this 2 days a week while still working my job at deaconess. as scary and intimidating as this all is for me, i feel that i need to give a shot. so i'm going at it with prayers and patience, and hopefully i will be able to lead the students well (but i'd appreciate any extra prayers that i can get to succeed at this venture!)

here's the new future home of the ofosu's. it's also in edmond, and very beautiful

its got great natural light with all these big windows!
our soon-to-be master
and the gorgeous living room... you're all invited!
to top it all off, tonight was date night! we treated ourselves to some brazillian food
then to a walk in the botanical gardens! many blessings :c)

oh la la

hey all! here's another first for me, what i call an oh la la session!
this was a boudoir shoot (tasteful photos that hint at sexiness.. according to wedding-photographers-directory.com). we were at the beautiful mcbirney mansion for most of this shoot (except for when we ran out of time and went to a friends house and revamped a bedroom into our own personal studio...but that's another story :c).
although we were all completely novice to the type of posing and attitude for the pics, we eventually got into the groove and had a lot of fun. here's a hint at what we got..

(her hubby is a cubs fan)
i love her beautiful eyelashes here!
the mansion had the best stuff to work with! check out the wallpaper!

anndrea's hitched!

one of my very good friends from college (i think people who knew us then thought we were attached at the hip..) married her main squeeze yesterday! it was a beautiful wedding on a beautiful day amongst mother nature (and all the zoo animals). it was my first wedding to be primary shooter, so more of the wedding photos to come. for now, here's the bridals we shot previously at the mcbirney mansion

p.s. you may be tired of hearing this.. but it's rays first day of work! sending him off this morning felt like he had never stopped.. but i already kinda miss him

last week i got to visit my old friend angela (who also recently purchased a beautiful house) and her darling daughter, audrey. audrey will be turning 2 at the end of this month, so to celebrate, we took some pictures! it was a very rainy day, but just after the rain stopped and the sun was beginning to set, we went outside to 'play', here's the images.

thank you for your prayers... we got the house! if all goes well, we will be closing on the 29th of this month (right before my trip to vegas!). look forward to the before and after pics!
on the other hand, we never heard from chesapeake. so please continue to pray for God to place ray in the right job, whether its chesapeake or not.

frustrations

i know, i know. in the big scheme of things, the little frustrations that i complain about are no big deal. buuut sometime it helps just to vent!
i am not by any means computer savvy. if you've ever watched my type you'd wonder how my backspace button isn't broke yet. i don't know what a ram is, or how to search for lost things, or how to be patient with a slow connection! so although i really enjoy photography, i hate the computer aspect of it. today's delema: i finally was able to put together a cute little photo board (one document in photoshop containing several images displayed in a appealing way- ashely webster). but now i can't get it to upload onto blogger (one of the main purposes!). facebook was able to accept it, and i ran through my short list of things to check. so in my frustration, you just get picture from a frustrating moment on our trip to kansas.
this is the scene we got to look at for about 10 mins by a town right next to tipton. with out much of an explanation from the orange jacket man (equipment... must wait.. white truck!) he resumed his post and left us looking left, right, up, and down to figure out what we were waiting for! finally a white truck with a big 'follow me' sign came, and we discovered that they were doing construction and had to direct traffic through the one lane road. can't they teach the man stopping traffic in the middle of nowhere that one phrase!!
so lesson learned, frustrations happen. thankfully there is a God with a big 'follow me' sign who wants to direct our path. too bad He doesn't fix computers..

okay, i just want to add one more analogy. even though we couldn't see anything that would warrant a need to stop here, the man knew what was up ahead. just like how God can see to what lies ahead. that's why, as ray and i tackle the all the decisions that go with buying a house, we just pray that we follow God's directions and don't get caught up in just what we see 'right now'

down by the river

so we had a blast at the tipton church picnic this weekend, but more of that later.
while i'm working on my tipton pics, here's my favorites form danna and jim's engagement session that we did down by the river in bricktown last weekend! their such a gorgeous couple, can't wait for their wedding in the vineyard in a couple months!
